Disability WORKS Australia (DWA) manages the referral of people with disabilities for employment in large organisations throughout South Australia.

DWA has established and manages a Disability Employment Register for eligible people with disabilities who are seeking employment in the South Australian public sector.

Individuals on the Register referred by DWA for vacancies in the public sector are required to compete for such positions on the basis of merit, in accordance with processes agreed to by the Commissioner for Public Employment.

Agencies should refer to Commissioner's Standard 2 - Quality Staffing for information on the processes for filing vacancies.

What is the Strategy for the Employment of People with Disabilities in the South Australian Public Sector?

The Strategy is an equal employment opportunity program, pursuant to Section 65(1) of the Public Sector Act 2009, to provide people with disabilities an opportunity to seek employment within the South Australian public sector.
