Title: Systems Support & Website Administrator

Pay Rate: Band 5 ($51,258 - $59,732)
Job Description:

To assist the Library Management Team in the provision of an innovative and customer focused library service with a particular emphasis on the development, delivery and promotion of technology systems and online services.

The position will work closely with the Co-ordinator Collections and Resources and the Co-ordinator Library Services :-

  • To supervise and maintain efficient and effective library systems and technologies.
  • To implement projects and assist with the development of online services, the website and related technology.

Technology Support

To assist the Co-ordinator Collections and Resources in providing effective and innovative technology to staff and library users by:

  • maintain the Library Management system in liaison with the organisations Information Technology Department.
  • Maintain related Library systems to ensure the most effective use of resources.
  • Collate regular statistical data and reports and other statistical information as required.
  • Provide support for all desktop and application issues.
  • Support, test and maintenance of system procedures, processes and documentation.
  • Liaise with and monitor the performance of the organisations IT department and external vendors to ensure equipment and application issues are maintained and faults are rectified in a timely manner.
  • Implement and project manage new technology projects under supervision of relevant co-ordinators as required.
  • Training staff and members of the public in the use of the Library's technology.

Web Administration

  • Ensure the continuous development and improvement of the Library website through the Libraries Content Management System to ensure
  • Accessibity standards are met
  • Usage?
  • User-friendly? Reflecting community needs
  • Monitor the performance and maintenance of the Library website.
  • Collate regular statistical data and reports
  • Provide recommendations to the Co-ordinator Collections & Resources and Co-ordinator Programs and Marketing in relation to web based developments.
  • Manage the content and maintain the Library website using the approved writing style guide.
  • Liaise regularly with Team Leaders to ensure Library website reflects the needs of the various service areas and that new content is readily available.
  • Keep abreast of new developments and relevant technologies and trends.

Online Services Team

To assist the Co-ordinator Collections and Resources and Online Services Team Leader to:

  • Actively contribute to the development of innovative information and online service deliveries and collections in both hard copy and electronic formats.
  • Provide support to staff in handling information inquiries and assist members of staff and public in the use of electronic resources
  • Promote information services by:
  • Conducting staff and public computer based training as required
Job Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Libraries and/or in a computer or technical discipline (completed within the last 2 years)
  • Relevant experience with library systems and relevant technologies.
  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications (completed within the last 2 years) and relevant experience with database systems and computer technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and troubleshoot general IT issues.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in website technologies and administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement new and emerging technologies within a customer focused environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated flexibility in approach to tasks and other staff and to manage workloads to meet objectives and deadlines.
  • Ability to effectively supervise and provide leadership to other staff when required.
  • A current Victorian Driver's licence.

Job Description:
  • Under the general direction of the Manager Parks & Recreation and in co-operation with the Team Leader – Recreation Projects and Foreshores plan, co-ordinate, monitor and support the delivery of quality sport and recreation services in the organisation.
  • Ensure the provision of leisure/recreation centres, golf courses, sport and recreation facilities, skate parks and playgrounds is undertaken to meet identified needs, and to maximise use and public safety.
  • Ensure that centres, facilities, programs and services are delivered within the requirements of funding programs.
  • Work with a range of community groups and clubs, stakeholders and leisure providers to deliver sport and recreation services and opportunities.
  • Work with a range of community based organisations, clubs and groups to improve their operations and their provision of sport and recreation opportunities using club development and business planning processes.
  • Work with other departments and service agencies to deliver sport and recreation services in the organisation.
  • Capacity to master and apply personnel policies & practices.
  • Ability to effectively lead, supervise, mentor, coach and develop staff.
  • Provide staff with professional supervision and advice in the delivery of service.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and manage, plan and organise one's own work and that of the staff under direct supervision to achieve identified objectives.
  • Ability to achieve objectives within designated time frames.
  • Skills to develop monitor and manage budgets.
  • Well developed analytical and decision making skills.

Job Requirements
  • Tertiary and or Post Graduate qualification (tertiary) Recreation, Management, or related fields (completed within the last 2 years)
  • Demonstrated capacity and experience in directly managing facilities and / or administering contracts / leases for recreation centres.
  • A current Victorian drivers licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, co-ordinating and delivering recreation services.
  • Previous experience in the supervision of staff.
  • Previous experience in the management of complex budgets.
  • Relevant tertiary or post graduate qualification (completed within the last 2 years) and significant demonstrated experience with verifiable performance outcomes.
  • Relevant experience in the management and operations of leisure/recreation centres, sport and recreation facilities.
  • Demonstrated systems, administrative and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in budget formation and management.
  • A demonstrated understanding of the recreation needs and issues.
  • Excellent verbal, written and negotiation skills.
  • Research and Planning skills.
  • Well developed skills in the use of computer packages including Windows based products.
  • Proven ability to lead, professionally supervise, develop, motivate and win the loyalty and confidence of and staff.
  • A current Victorian drivers licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
