- To recognize single mothers and their children as a viable an positive family unit
- To promote the understanding and acceptance of single mothers and their children in the community so that they may be free from prejudice
- To work for improvements in the social, economic and legal status of single mothers an their children

| Our Objectives: |
- To act as a central focus for those concerned with single mother issues and to facilitate discussion and co-operation between relevant state government and non-government agencies.
- To conduct, promote and participate in research on matters affecting single mother families.
Volunteer delegates are required in every state & territory to assist in the research, development, and implementation of a National Project Plan, to increase the capacity and social inclusion of marginalized and indigenous single mothers. The aim is to improve the capacity for these mothers to contribute to public policy & improve the capacity of NCSMC to respond to the needs of marginalized single mothers across Australia . Ideally, Volunteer State Delegates would be working together in each state by any means possible to coordinate and implement program development. Eligibility is open to any person who has had an ex-nuptial child or pregnancy, or was themselves an ex-nuptial child. |
