Job Description:

A Council is seeking a motivated person with a database administration skills and good interpersonal and communication skills to manage its computerised safety management tool.

The Safety System Administrator position forms an integral part of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) Section. The Safety Management Section is responsible for leading the continuous improvement of Council's Occupational Health and Safety Management System, ensuring the System meets WorkCover's requirements. This objective will be achieved through effective interpretation of legislative requirements, development of system documentation and processes, implementation of system requirements, and system audit and review.

The Safety System Administrator plays a critical role in ensuring the effective development and management of Council's computerised safety management tool (currently SafeTsmart). An effective OHSMS is based upon sound strategy, and this requires consistent data capture, data analysis to identify trends, and statistical reporting in order to track performance.

Job Requirements

Essential

  • Tertiary qualifications that include database management and/or extensive relevant experience in database administration;
  • Superior computer literacy skills in the use of MS Office applications;
  • Demonstrated abilities in the analysis of data, and production of statistical and graphical reports;
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) and ability to foster and maintain people networks;
  • Demonstrated abilities in initiating and implementing database system improvements;
  • Minimum Class C Motor Vehicle Driver's Licence

  Highly Desirable

  • Demonstrated ability to design “ad hoc” database reports;
  • Experience in the use of ORACLE software applications;
  • Qualifications and experience in training small groups;
  • Sound knowledge of the diverse services provided by Local Government

Title: Valuer / Land Economist

Job Description:

This position offers a wide variety of valuation work and requires a valuer with a strong work ethic and ability to work under minimal supervision. Practical experience and unrestricted registration to practice in NSW is required.

The position provides advice to Council and to assist the Property Services Section in the pre-established objectives by providing input to the property development program, other land related entrepreneurial activity and the review of Council's Real Estate assets.

The position is broadbanded from grade 17 to grade 19 to allow recruitment of qualified applicants with a range of experience. This broadbanding sets out the rules of progression as experience is achieved.

Job Requirements

Key Selection Criteria

  • Completion of a degree in a property related discipline, unrestricted registration as a practising real estate valuer, associate membership (valuation) of the Australian Property Institute and a minimum of five years experience as a practising valuer.
  • Experience in undertaking valuations of varying complexity.
  • Knowledge of established precedents affecting valuation approach

Highly Desirable

  • Associate membership of the Australian Property Institute (Land Economy)
  • Experience in undertaking discounted cash flow analysis and valuations based on hypothetical development
  • Knowledge of current legislation as it affects real estate dealings and practical experience in property management and local government property administration.
  • Effective communication skills, including negotiation and innovative problem solving
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

Volunteer State Delegate – National Council of Single Mothers & their Children (NCSMC)

Mission Statement:

The National Council of Single Mothers & their Children fights for the rights of single mothers.

Our Aim:
  • To ensure that children of single mothers have a fair start in life
  • To recognize single mothers and their children as a viable an positive family unit
  • To promote the understanding and acceptance of single mothers and their children in the community so that they may be free from prejudice
  • To work for improvements in the social, economic and legal status of single mothers an their children
Our Objectives:
  • To act as a central focus for those concerned with single mother issues and to facilitate discussion and co-operation between relevant state government and non-government agencies.
  • To conduct, promote and participate in research on matters affecting single mother families.

Volunteer delegates are required in every state & territory to assist in the research, development, and implementation of a National Project Plan, to increase the capacity and social inclusion of marginalized and indigenous single mothers. The aim is to improve the capacity for these mothers to contribute to public policy & improve the capacity of NCSMC to respond to the needs of marginalized single mothers across Australia . Ideally, Volunteer State Delegates would be working together in each state by any means possible to coordinate and implement program development. Eligibility is open to any person who has had an ex-nuptial child or pregnancy, or was themselves an ex-nuptial child.
